With developing unique equipment in the industry, Townsend
Turf is able to supply and deliver a thorough renovation
job. As well as the long established Turf Mate and other
machines in the stable, we have developed a tractor mounted
groover with a hydraulic catcher. This is ideal for the
renovation of croquet, bowling, tennis and cricket blocks
etc.We have a variety of different machines which can

One machine takes care of everything.
The Turf Mate fulfils the function
of five major pieces of equipment - adjustable
rippers, leveling blade, adjustable cultivating discs,
seed drill and roller. Nothing prepares and maintains
lawns like this world-beater. |

Beautiful
billiard-table smoothness. Turf Mate transforms rough
ground and all soil types including lumpy clay and iron
traces. Turf Mate tumbles, crushes, discs and rolls the
soil, creating a seed bed to the right depth. Finally,
it sows the seed, using the optional seed-box attachment.
For sowing undulating ground, the ripper blade is replaced
with a front roller to prevent scalping. |

Selective
cultivation and repair. Turf Mate cultivates bare
patches on sports fields without damaging surrounding
turf. Leveling low spots and worn areas is handled more
efficiently by discing and leveling soil with the attached
blade. Problems of panning and layering are eliminated
by discing worn areas with the Turf Mate,then leveling
out and discing in the new soil. |

Perfect for most site applications and ground types.
Tall overgrown areas are not stripped bare of topsoil.
Vegetation is easily removed and the ground can be leveled
and cultivated at the same time in preparation for sowing
seed. Clay sub-grade on new building sites can be leveled,
then ripped and disced to key in imported topsoil. Turf
Mate also grades and smoothes metal for concrete pads
and driveways. |

A
precision under-sower. With the optional, shower-proof
under-sower attachment, your Turf Mate becomes a quality
precision under-sower. The attachment provides the flexibility
of heavy and light sowing rates with under-sowing spaces
of 2 inches (50mm). These machines are not limited by
PTO-driven units which govern ground speed. The front
ripper blade is easily detached and replaced with a front-mounted
roller which allows you to sow undulating ground, as on
golf courses and private lawns. The seed-box is driven
by an efficient geared electric motor. |

Care-free,
cost-efficient and low-maintenance. The Turf Mate
is not PTO-driven, which means lower horsepower requirements,
lower fuel usage, less wear and tear, less maintenance
and less down time. This equates to greater overall efficiency,
saving you time and money. |
